Browsers are the most used and necessary tools today—they're the door to search engines and the infinite world of the Internet.
Safari from Apple and Chrome from Google are the top 2 most used browsers in the world today. After switching from Chrome to Safari for 2 months, here's my honest comparison.
Search Experience
Accessing search engines, finding information, managing information, and storing it are some of the main reasons browsers exist.
Without a doubt, Chrome offers a better browsing experience than Safari.

Winner: Chrome ✓
Productivity
Chrome's Strengths:
- Well-organized tabs for efficient access and management
- Tab grouping helps multi-taskers juggling 100 pages simultaneously
- Bookmarks placed so you can't miss anything
Safari's Challenges:
After switching from Chrome to Safari, my expectations were higher than the reality. The first thing I didn't like was how tabs are displayed and managed:
- Tabs overlap when you have too many
- Finding and switching between tabs wastes time
- Grouping tabs isn't as easy as in Chrome
- The left drawer doesn't help much
- Finding and saving bookmarks isn't intuitive

Winner: Chrome ✓
Security and Privacy
Chrome's Issues:
One of the major issues in Chrome is privacy and security:
- Pages that open out of control
- Notifications bombarding your screen
- Strange browser behavior
- You have to be very careful
Safari's Strengths:
Security and Privacy are Safari's watchwords:
- Detailed tracker reports give helpful insight
- No instances of the security issues I experienced in Chrome
- Passkey integration with the Apple ecosystem is salvation
- Pleasing experience keeping accounts strong while saving time
Chrome has a password manager that works well, but Passkey is more secure.

Winner: Safari ✓
Speed
I've used Chrome for a long time, and there are times when it:
- Significantly slows down device performance
- Consumes a lot of battery
Safari doesn't seem to slow down the device much and doesn't use significant energy, but I haven't seen an evident difference in speed compared to Chrome.

Accessibility & Usability
Safari is simple to use, but simultaneously difficult and not comprehensive.
Chrome, the world's most popular browser, is:
- Easy to use
- Very intuitive for all people
- Uses a user-friendly and widely adopted design system
I've seen how easily my parents and grandparents got used to Chrome.

Winner: Chrome ✓
Consistency
Chrome:
- Fantastic browsing experience powered by Google
- Integration with many products
- Easy to be productive and never miss a thing
- Continuity of design system from one product to another
- Comfortable and time-saving
Safari:
Often feels like using several design systems at the same time. I frequently find myself using Google products within a Safari frame.

Winner: Chrome ✓
Flexibility
Chrome:
- Works across devices with different operating systems
- Easily customizable according to everyone's workflow
- Maintains continuity of searches across platforms
Safari:
- Works very well but limited to Apple devices only
- Difficult to maintain search continuity with multiple OS devices

Winner: Chrome ✓
Mobile Experience
Most of us spend more time on phones, so the mobile experience matters.
Safari:
I love that the search bar is at the bottom—it's one of the smartest decisions for browsers because it makes searching easier.
Chrome:
Also offers a fantastic mobile experience. When you have no tabs to show, you can play a game. That's how far Google has thought.

Winner: Chrome ✓
Overall Experience
Safari and Chrome are both fantastic browsers.
From my personal experience, Safari has impressed me in terms of privacy and security.
Based on which elements are most important to you, you can choose to use Safari or Chrome.
Overall, Chrome offers the best user experience, aside from the few issues it has. Chrome is customizable to your way of working and very flexible.
Final Verdict: Chrome offers the best overall experience
