Safari from Apple and Chrome from Google are the top 2 most used browsers in the world today. After switching from Chrome to Safari for 2 months, here's my honest comparison.
Search Experience
Accessing search engines, finding information, managing information, and storing it are some of the main reasons browsers exist.
Without a doubt, Chrome offers a better browsing experience than Safari.

Chrome's Strengths:
- Well-organized tabs for efficient access and management
- Tab grouping helps multi-taskers juggling 100 pages simultaneously
- Bookmarks placed so you can't miss anything
Safari's Challenges:
After switching from Chrome to Safari, my expectations were higher than the reality. The first thing I didn't like was how tabs are displayed and managed:
- Tabs overlap when you have too many
- Finding and switching between tabs wastes time
- Grouping tabs isn't as easy as in Chrome
- The left drawer doesn't help much
- Finding and saving bookmarks isn't intuitive

Security and Privacy
Chrome's Issues:
One of the major issues in Chrome is privacy and security:
- Pages that open out of control
- Notifications bombarding your screen
- Strange browser behavior
- You have to be very careful
Safari's Strengths:
Security and Privacy are Safari's watchwords:
- Detailed tracker reports give helpful insight
- No instances of the security issues I experienced in Chrome
- Passkey integration with the Apple ecosystem is salvation
- Pleasing experience keeping accounts strong while saving time
Chrome has a password manager that works well, but Passkey is more secure.

I've used Chrome for a long time, and there are times when it:
- Significantly slows down device performance
- Consumes a lot of battery
Safari doesn't seem to slow down the device much and doesn't use significant energy, but I haven't seen an evident difference in speed compared to Chrome.

I love that the search bar is at the bottom: it's one of the smartest decisions for browsers because it makes searching easier.
